Communities Show Support to Prevent Child Abuse

Last year more than 100 organizations and communities supported the efforts to prevent child abuse in Oklahoma by displaying “Blue Ribbon Trees” across the state. The Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Action Committee invites every community, school, business and even individuals to participate this year in the “Build a Blue Ribbon Tree for Kids”campaign. The blue ribbon is the international sign for child abuse prevention and serves as a constant reminder that all of us have a responsibility to help protect children.

Participants can display blue ribbon trees throughout the month of April, which is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The theme for this year’s CAP month is “It’s Your Turn to Make a Difference in the Life of a Child.” Tree photos will be featured in a presentation at the State Capitol on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, CAP DAY AT THE CAPITOL. The registration form must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, April 3, 2013. To read the entire article, click here.
