Oklahoma Beef Council Promotes Pre-Labor Day Blood Donation – Aug. 29

Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) encourages blood donors to “beef up” the blood supply prior to the Labor Day holiday. Anyone who gives blood at any OBI donor center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, will receive an all-beef hotdog, courtesy of the Oklahoma Beef Council.  

Each donor will also receive a choice of the new, 2014 OU or OSU donor T-shirt, along with free health screenings and a chance to win a pair of tickets to the 2014 Bedlam football game to be played on Dec. 6. To read the entire article, click here.

Oklahoma Health Center Foundation Announces its 2014 Treasures For Tomorrow Honorees


The Oklahoma Health Center Foundation announced five Oklahomans as its 2014 Treasures For Tomorrow honorees. This year’s honorees include Dr. Bob and Debbie Blackburn, Dr. John and Sharon Bozalis, and Russell Perry. They will be honored at the 15th annual Treasures For Tomorrow celebration set for Thursday, September 25, at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Oklahoma City. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. with a reception followed by the awards dinner. The Jean I. Everest Foundation is the presenting sponsor. 

The Treasures For Tomorrow honor pays tribute to individuals whose passion for life, courage and inspiring actions serve as a model for quality values and goodness in our community. Teresa Rose and Mary Melon are co-chairs for the event. To read then entire article, click here.

Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Students Rank First in Oklahoma and First in the Nation in Division II Engineering

Students from the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics have been recognized for their state and national achievements in the TEAM+S 2014 Competition.  

TEAM+S, which stands for Tests of Engineering, Aptitude, Mathematics and Science, is a nationally recognized engineering competition where students solve complex mathematical problems and answer questions related to the contest theme. To read the entire article, click here.
